Questions and Answers

 A few common questions that pops up:


How much are the fees?

$40 per week for adult. 

We do not have a contract but require a 2 weeks notice to end your membership fees.

Where are you located?

We are located at 35 Church Street, Onehunga, Auckland.

Do I need to be fit to join?

No, you do not need to. You will get gradually BJJ fit by attending the classes.

How big is the gym?

We have about 150 sqm of mats (Tatami) for all our classes.

We can easily have 25 people training on the mats with lot of space remaining.

How many classes do you have?

At the moment, we have classes on Mondays/Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays taught by Black Belts Instructors.

We will have a Friday class taught by a Brown Belt Instructor later in the month January when the attendance starts picking up again.

Do you have classes on Saturday?

No. However, the gym is open from 10 AM to 11 AM for members to come drill techniques and spars.

What does your classes consist of?

For the beginners, we have a fundamental program which is 12 weeks long and repeat twice during semester 1 and semester 2. 

For the advanced students, the program is more guard centric and we cover the more modern and more recent techniques used in the highest competition level.

We also have a solid Judo program taught by Stu who is an IBJJ 3 degree  black belt but also a third Dan in Judo.

Are you a sport oriented or self defense oriented club?

We are both. We encourage our students to compete in sport BJJ.

At the same time, we also focus on self defense for our members.

How long are the classes?

The classes are usually 2 hours long.

They consist of a warm up and takedowns with drills which last for 25 minutes.

Then we teach the technical part of the class for the 30 minutes,

The rest of the class will consist of sparring for about 1 hours.

We do not attend the whole hour of sparring but it is recommended to improve your skills

How can I join?

Please message us for a free trial or just turn up 10 minutes early so we can sign you up.

Just wear a t shirt (dry shirt) and shorts (no pocket or zipper).

If it happened to a Gi (BJJ uniform) class, we will loan you an uniform for the class.

Do you have a kid class?

Not at the moment, if you have an older child like high school, we might to see if you can join in with the adult classes which start at 6 pm.
