Rousimar Palhares “done” with UFC after heel hook incident

After his second heel hook incident during his UFC tenure, new welterweight Rousimar Palhares has been cut from the UFC.

Palhares submitted Mike Pierce with the dreaded submission in just 30 seconds at UFC Fight Night 29 on Wednesday night.

Despite scoring the only submission on the card, Palhares was denied a $50,000 submission of the night bonus by the UFC for “unsportsmanlike conduct.” Dana White promised that additional punishment would be coming for Palhares, and on Wednesday White told ESPN that Palhares was done with the UFC. He also compared Palhares to Paul Daley, who was banned from the organization after sucker-punching Josh Koscheck in 2010.
As mentioned, it’s the second such incident of Palhares’ UFC career. He was suspended 90 days for failing to release the same hold on Tomasz Drwal in 2010, but apparently did not learn his lesson.

A few common questions that pops up: How much are the fees? $40 per week for adult. We do not have a contract but require a 2 weeks notice to end your membership fees. Where are you located? We are located at 35 Church Street, Onehunga, Auckland. Do I need to be fit to join? No, you do not need to. You will get gradually BJJ fit by attending the classes. How big is the gym? We have about 150 sqm of mats (Tatami) for all our classes. We can easily have 25 people training on the mats with lot of space remaining. How many classes do you have? At the moment, we have classes on Mondays/Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays taught by Black Belts Instructors. We will have a Friday class taught by a Brown Belt Instructor later in the month January when the attendance starts picking up again. Do you have classes on Saturday?
