Thiago Silva threatens people inside jiujitsu school at gunpoint, barricades self inside home

UFC Fighter Thiago Silva walks in a BJJ school with a gun and threatens his separated wife and instructor Popovitch

A prominent mixed martial artist was dumped Friday by a national fighting organization after police said he threatened to shoot his estranged wife and her boyfriend and was arrested.

Thiago Anderson Ramos da Silva, a 31-year-old Brazilian who owns an Oakland Park home and trains in South Florida, competed as a light heavyweight for Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Mixed martial artists draw from multiple disciplines, including boxing, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, judo and tae kwon do.

The fight promoter terminated Silva's contract a day after the Broward Sheriff's Office said deputies waited about three hours for him to leave his home and a SWAT team was called.

Silva is off of Ultimate Fighting's card for a March match in Dallas, when a lawyer said he could have been eligible to win up to $140,000.

The alleged crime unfolded Thursday night when Silva was continuously honking his Dodge Charger's horn outside Popovitch Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Center at 777 E. Oakland Park Blvd., a complaint affidavit states
;hThiago Silva just got himself in a load of trouble.
According to sources close to BJPENN.COM, we have learned that upon hearing of his wife’s possible infidelities with her Jiu Jitsu coach, Pablo Popovich, the top UFC light-heavyweight barged into their school gun-drawn, looking for Pablo.
He then left the scene to barricade himself inside his home while the Broward Sheriff department SWAT team placed a perimeter outside the home.
This all went down tonight, just a few hours ago.

Linjian Chan Graduation

Dear members of the Auckland BJJ community, Today, we gather to celebrate the remarkable achievements of one of our own, Linjian Chen, who has earned his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Linjian's journey has been unique and inspiring, starting in his 50s and culminating with this incredible achievement. As we honor Linjian's dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to his training, I am reminded of a quote by Bruce Lee, who said, "Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do." Linjian embodies this spirit of action and determination, always pushing himself to be better and never giving up on his goals. Another great quote that comes to mind is by Ralph Waldo Emerson, who said, "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." Linjian's journey to this point has been long and challenging, but he has always shown that he has what it takes to succeed. His strength, d...
