How to pose for BJJ pictures

You have a few options available.

Let start with the traditional V for group picture. with the leader in the front. Important to reinforce leadership once more. Just in case, potential students do not know what the belt ranking stands for.

Then you have different individual poses.
The body hug where you wrap your right hand over your left elbow. This pose was used a lot by Helio Gracie and define the self defense aspect where your right hand is free to block a strike.

Next option is the hands on the belt. So you just look like a bad ass.

Also, do not smile. You do not want to come across to friendly just in case someone might want to join your club.

The worst option in my opinion is the crossed arms, just bad for self defense (just in case somebody decide to strike you during a photo session at your dojo!).

To conclude, we have the hang loose sign as well.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture often associated with Hawaii and surf culture. It consists of extending the thumb and smallest finger while holding the three middle fingers curled, and gesturing in salutation while presenting the front or back of the hand; the hand may be rotated back and forth for emphasis. The shaka sign was adopted from local Hawaiian culture by visiting surfers in the 1960s, and its use has spread around the world. BJJ guys love using it because it is so cool.

Questions and Answers

 A few common questions that pops up: How much are the fees? $40 per week for adult.  We do not have a contract but require a 2 weeks notice to end your membership fees. Where are you located? We are located at 35 Church Street, Onehunga, Auckland. Do I need to be fit to join? No, you do not need to. You will get gradually BJJ fit by attending the classes. How big is the gym? We have about 150 sqm of mats (Tatami) for all our classes. We can easily have 25 people training on the mats with lot of space remaining. How many classes do you have? At the moment, we have classes on Mondays/Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays taught by Black Belts Instructors. We will have a Friday class taught by a Brown Belt Instructor later in the month January when the attendance starts picking up again. Do you have classes on Saturday?
