Training report: Self defense and Single X guard

Part 2 of our self defence week for the beginners.

Our nogi competitors and more advanced students were taught the single X guard.

We had Mark from HQ as a guest instructor that specialise into the single X guard.

Single X guard has been made popular by Marcelo Garcia and is very practical especially for Nogi.

Next week is Questions & Answers and our competitors will also be drilling their game plan for the competition on the 28 March.

Questions and Answers

A few common questions that pops up: How much are the fees? $40 per week for adult. We do not have a contract but require a 2 weeks notice to end your membership fees. Where are you located? We are located at 35 Church Street, Onehunga, Auckland. Do I need to be fit to join? No, you do not need to. You will get gradually BJJ fit by attending the classes. How big is the gym? We have about 150 sqm of mats (Tatami) for all our classes. We can easily have 25 people training on the mats with lot of space remaining. How many classes do you have? At the moment, we have classes on Mondays/Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays taught by Black Belts Instructors. We will have a Friday class taught by a Brown Belt Instructor later in the month January when the attendance starts picking up again. Do you have classes on Saturday?
