Technique of the week: Peruvian Necktie (with lapel)

You got to love Martial arts when old techniques get "rediscovered" all the time.

Yarden Gerbi pulled a beautiful submission to win Gold at the Judo World Championship which was held in Rio de Janeiro.
She used her own lapel to choke out her opponent
In BJJ, it usually reffered as the Peruvian Necktie (with a lapel).

In Judo, it is called Suso Jime .
I am not even sure if it is legal after reading so much controversial posts on the internet.

My guess is that we should just re called it the Israeli Necktie for the lapel option.

Questions and Answers

A few common questions that pops up: How much are the fees? $40 per week for adult. We do not have a contract but require a 2 weeks notice to end your membership fees. Where are you located? We are located at 35 Church Street, Onehunga, Auckland. Do I need to be fit to join? No, you do not need to. You will get gradually BJJ fit by attending the classes. How big is the gym? We have about 150 sqm of mats (Tatami) for all our classes. We can easily have 25 people training on the mats with lot of space remaining. How many classes do you have? At the moment, we have classes on Mondays/Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays taught by Black Belts Instructors. We will have a Friday class taught by a Brown Belt Instructor later in the month January when the attendance starts picking up again. Do you have classes on Saturday?
