Training report: Internal NOGI competition

To prepare for the NZ Grappler NOGI event on the Saturday 28 March, we decided to have a FREE
internal nogi competition.

9 students competed and we split them into 2 groups (heavy and light).

Mario and Igor referees the matches.
So that is great to see seniors students taking a role into referring.

The turn out was not that great and it might be due that some students are not all that keen to compete.

Therefore it is important as a club to caters for all our members: competitors and non-competitors.

We will be splitting the class accordingly for the next couple of weeks until the competition.

The best news is that no one got injured and that is the most important.

Igo won the light division

Andree won the random prize.

Questions and Answers

A few common questions that pops up: How much are the fees? $40 per week for adult. We do not have a contract but require a 2 weeks notice to end your membership fees. Where are you located? We are located at 35 Church Street, Onehunga, Auckland. Do I need to be fit to join? No, you do not need to. You will get gradually BJJ fit by attending the classes. How big is the gym? We have about 150 sqm of mats (Tatami) for all our classes. We can easily have 25 people training on the mats with lot of space remaining. How many classes do you have? At the moment, we have classes on Mondays/Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays taught by Black Belts Instructors. We will have a Friday class taught by a Brown Belt Instructor later in the month January when the attendance starts picking up again. Do you have classes on Saturday?
